Research Focus
Dr. Streicher’s research focuses on integrating genetic methods and tools, such as principal component analysis (PCA), Uniform Manifold Approximation & Projection (UMAP), genome-wide association studies (GWAS), and Mendelian randomization analysis with classical epidemiologic methods to identify risk factors associated with cancer incidence.
Her current work focuses on:
- The MEC Japanese American population of Okinawan ancestry
- Risk factors associated with pancreatic cancer
- Assessing causal relationships between lifestyle factors and cancer incidence using Mendelian randomization analysis
- Guiding the design and analysis of genome-wide association studies
